This webquest is geared towards fourth or fifth graders. Before beginning this Webquest the students will need to have read The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett and/or watched the movie. If you do not have a copy of this book or movie, and can’t locate it at your local or school library, you can find it at:

This is a wonderful Webquest when working on units in Science based on flowers and plants as well as when reading The Secret Garden in Literature. This also helps students work in groups and enhance computer skills such as:
Keyboarding
Mouse Orientation
Web Search
If you are using this in a Science unit, it would be best to just view the movie as a class and then begin the Webquest. But you could plan to read The Secret Garden at the same time as the Plant and Flowers unit in Science.
